Acer palmatum (Japanese maple) [13] This species comes in many guises with a range of leaf colours in 'solid' and dissected ('cut-leaf') forms. They all make lovely small deciduous trees or shrubs that will do best in moist but well-drained loam in positions protected from cold winds and early morning sun. We usually have samples of shrubs and small to specimen-size standards available and would be pleased to quote for specific named varieties.
