Carpinus lends itself to shaping and has featured regularly in our exhibits at The Chelsea Flower Show. In the common species, in addition to the more traditional pleached form it is available trained as arches, columns, cubes and espaliers. Please ask for further details.
C.betulus 'Fastigiata Monument' [491] This is a very compact, narrow columnar form. Suitable for small gardens particularly as offered here with their neat, tight, flame-shaped heads.
