A hardy deciduous suckering shrub grown for it's upright bright-red stems which are an attractive winter feature. Small clusters of white flowers appear early summer followed by small berries. Prune all, or a proportion of the shoots, to ground level every other March. Will grow in any good soil and does better in sunny situations.
