Prunus cerasifera "Pissardii"

As a tree or shrub this makes a lovely backdrop subject. Dainty pink flowers usually appear before the foliage has emerged. The young dark-red foliage turns deep-purple as it matures. Performs best where the soil is permeable and cool and can be trimmed to tidy immediately after flowering.
