Plant Hire

Organising a special event such as a wedding, family occasion or an exhibition? By hiring some of our exciting topiary and specimen plants to enhance the setting you will help to make something to remember.

Whilst we would be pleased to advise, we recommend a personal visit to the nursery to make your own selection. Most of our plants are available for hire and we are prepared to hold your choice for up to one week before the event.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Services The hirer will be responsible for the care of the plants whilst in his or her possession and will guarantee to pay for loss or damage.

A refundable deposit may be asked for and will be based on the total retail value of the items being hired.

The hire charge covers up to a 5-day period and is related to the retail value of each of the item being hired and is inclusive of V.A.T. at the appropriate rate.

We must reserve the right to substitute in the event that a plant is withdrawn for sale before the period of hire.

For each plant value up to the value £36.00
Hire fee of £8.00

For each plant valued between £37.00 & £90.00
Hire fee of £12.00

For each plant valued between £91.00 & £135.00
Hire fee of £15.00

For each plant valued between £136.00 & £200.00
Hire fee of £18.00

For each plant valued between £201.00 & £300.00
Hire fee of £25.00

For each plant valued over £300.00
Hire fee of 15% of retail value

The hire charges do not include delivery before the event or collection afterwards. If you are unable to arrange your own transport we will charge you at cost. We may use the services of a carrier or courier.

If any of the items are retained for purchase we will waive the related hire charge.

Site Visits

We are often asked to visit customers’ gardens with the idea of assessing the current situation in order to make suggestions for future planting schemes and/or choice of plants.

We cannot offer a full design service - there are many who specialise in that field. However, if you seek informal advice we may be able to help and will visit your site subject to the following non-negotiable conditions:-

  • A fee will be charged as a contribution towards our time and travelling expenses.
  • The fee can be redeemed in full in the form of discount if it is at least 10% of the valye of a subsequent single transaction for purchase of plants. Part redemptions are not available.

Mail Order

We are able to send goods to any destination within the E.U.

Some lightweight items such as frames and small plants, for which the carriage will not usually exceed £10, are generally forwarded by Post Office services. The majority of our orders however, will be sent by carrier.

Orders are normally dispatched from the nursery on Monday or Tuesday for delivery the same week. As a guide the charges for carrier services to mainland U.K.destinations will include a standing charge of £10 per delivery plus a weight related charge of 28p per kilo.

Customers in Norfolk and Suffolk will usually pay approximately half the above rate whilst offshore customers will pay considerably more.

We will quote a charge for your order if requested

For large orders or those involving heavy or bulky items we prefer to use an excellent local courier. The order will be collected from our nursery and delivered direct to you on a mutually agreed date. As the charge will be related to the time and distance involved rather than the weight, we will quote you a special price for this superior service if we think it is more appropriate.


IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL MAIL ORDER INFORMATION

Some plants will be protected with plastic netting and/or cling film, which should be cut to remove as pulling off may damage the foliage and shoots.

All items leave the nursery in good condition and with sufficient packaging to assist safe transit. Goods must be checked for damage before the carriers' delivery note is signed as neither ourselves or the carrier will accept liability for damage unless notified to the carrier at the time of delivery. Rights to compensation for damage will be forfeited if goods are signed for as ‘unchecked’. Once an order has left the nursery the customer becomes liable for all charges relating to carriage or courier services.
