Ginkgo biloba (Maidenhair tree)

This hardy, deciduous tree develops a broadly columnar habit. Classified as a conifer, it looks quite unlike any other. It is fully hardy but does best in a warm, sunny position in any ordinary garden soil. The soft green, leathery, fan-shaped leaves turn golden in autumn.
